You didn't choose your confirmations platform. Your bank's instructions did.

For years, US bank confirmation instructions listed one or two accepted channels, so firms adopted them and the decision was never revisited.

That has now changed: major US banks now list Circit as an accepted electronic submission channel, alongside the platforms your firm uses today. The mandate was never really a mandate. It was a default.

THE DIFFERENCE

Paper vs. Verified at Source

Confirmed on paper

Your current process
A request routes to a bank operations queue
Someone reads it and types a reply
The response returns as a static PDF
Evidence quality depends on who answered, and when
Faster than post, same evidence category as 1995

Verified at source

Circit
Direct API connection to the bank's own systems
The balance comes from the source: nothing re-keyed, nothing relayed
Auditor in control of the process throughout
Full audit trail; every provider verified before a request is sent
The evidential model both new US standards describe

The standard has already moved

Both US confirmation standards now recognize direct access

PCAOB AS 2310

Effective for fiscal years ending on or after June 15, 2025

Recognizes direct access to information maintained by a knowledgeable external source, with the auditor in control throughout, as valid confirmation evidence in its own right. Not an alternative procedure — the standard itself.

AICPA SAS No. 150

Effective for periods ending on or after December 15, 2028 — early adoption permitted today

Extends the same principle to private company audits, and introduces a requirement to perform confirmation procedures for cash held by third parties. The direct-access model is adoptable now.

Neither standard mandates a technology. Both describe an evidential model most confirmation processes weren't built around. Read the full breakdown

Switching is smaller than it sounds

Runs alongside what you use today. No leap required.

Because banks accept Circit as a standard submission channel, firms don't migrate, they start.

Run Circit on a pilot set of engagements alongside your current platform, compare the evidence and the turnaround, and scale on your own timeline. Onboarding is a single training session, with fixed-fee pricing that stays predictable as volume grows.

Common questions

Objections, answered.

Do banks actually accept Circit?

Yes, major US banks list Circit as an accepted electronic submission channel in their published audit confirmation instructions, alongside platforms you already use.

Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Most firms pilot Circit on a subset of engagements alongside their current platform, then scale based on results.

Is direct bank data acceptable audit evidence?

PCAOB AS 2310 explicitly recognizes direct, auditor-controlled access to an external source's records as confirmation evidence. SAS No. 150 mirrors this for private company audits, with early adoption permitted.

What about confirmations that aren't Bank?

Bank, AR/AP, legal, custodian, asset management and trade confirmations all run in the same workflow: one platform for every request on the engagement.

How is it priced?

Fixed-fee pricing, predictable to budget as confirmation volumes scale across teams and entities.
